Tiger tank Mk1

Post by Guest on 9/10/2010, 22:57

Well finally finished this heap of *****. Not meaning the tank but the makers of the kit.(Academy)
I started doing this last year! It is a kit that has a detailed inside compartment, turret and hull. Well I finished the hull with some difficulty (parts not fitting) but I sort of modeled them to fit. When I started the turret, I built about 1/10th and put it down for about three months. It drove me crazy, nothing fitted properly and I got a bit miffed with it (not allowed to swear). So a couple of weeks ago I decided to finish it without the inside. My next project is a Centurion, this is my all time favourite tank.(Drove one) Very Happy. Made by AFV Club. Then the Panther, before the King Tiger. Both kits are made by Dragon so these should be good.

Well this is the outcome
Tiger Mk1 Mid Production
101st Heavy Tank Battalion
Normandy, France. June 1944.

This is a model of the 101st Heavy Tank Battalion, which he was part of. But not his tank.
I will be building another tiger, maybe I'll do his 205 Shocked

The tank looks great, I remember having the tanks and the boxes of soldiers I collected the allies and my brother(tw4t) was the Germans.
