GeForce Shadow Play

Post by USMCWeatherMan on 6/11/2015, 01:00

Any ARC PC gamers utilize the Nvidia GeForce Shadow Play feature? Had my rig running for almost a year now and I just recently read up on it. Thinking of trying it out and was wondering if anyone else had experience with it.

It works, it beats the manure out of FRAPS for performance and not dropping frames and manure. But as with all video capture, you need a much meater card than normal for whatever you're playing at the time. I have a GTX980 though and I toyed with it, seemed to chew up most current titles.

Sweet thanks! My lappy currently has the 860M 2GB, so I should be good with giving it a go on my older titles. I'll probably try it when FO4 is relesed next week, but me thinks my GPU will be pushing its limits to run it.

If it doesn't work try MSI Afterburner. Nice free programme easy to use as well. Also has a Shadow Play feature.

I use it all the time, uses so few resorces you don't notice it running and it's fantastic for those I wish I had recorded that moments, small files of high quality too, I use Movie studio Platinum to edit, a cut down version of it's bigger brother with all the editing tools you would need at a fraction of the cost.
Jack Fraggs just did a video of GeForce experience including shadowplay showing off it's effectiveness for keeping your drivers up to date, optimising your games and recording....

works with GTX600 series and later with hardly a hit on performance

I had problems with it on my mobile card, running a 660M it's not as forgiving as the 980, obviously hardware age and stuff is a factor I just wasn't sure what he was running. What he has should be fine though like you say, will suit em well.
